collage2013

It’s almost time for Portland Open Studios.  Mark your calendars for October 12th and 13th as well as the 19th and 20th.  I’m excited to be on the tour again with 96 Portland artists and am offering one free guide/tickets to the first five people to leave a comment on this post.  Each guide is a map that acts as a ticket for two adults.  I’ll contact you privately for your mailing address and send you the guide.

In previous years, I’ve moved up much of my finished work to my living room, but this year I’ll be hosting in my actual work space in the basement.  Hope to see you on the tour!

It about time for the Crafty Wonderland Spring sale!  Come by this Saturday for lots of fun and amazing handmade goodness.  I’ll be having a seconds section in my booth and will have all my discontinued 8 x 10 prints at only $9.  What deals!  I’ll also have a great selection of original map paintings, 11 x 14 prints, notecards and some of the poppy totes.  Hope to see you soon!

My friend Jamee Linton is having a moving sale as she heads to Seattle.  Come visit her studio this weekend, Feb. 16th and 17th for some great deals on beautiful art.  Jamee and I met years ago when we both work at our local art supply store, Art Media and I love having her peaceful work on my walls.  Visit her website for more info.

Hello, hello!

My name is Rachel and I like to paint.

It feels like I’ve been away from the blog for some time.  I’ve been taking some time off to reconnect with friends and family after a busy holiday season – plus time for some nasty colds.  Boo to that part.  Now I’m getting back into painting.  Lots of commissions keep coming in for my map series and are keeping me busy again.  Very fun.  I’m also hoping to start painting my Cartography series and started a large painting mapping out Portland neighborhoods.

Best to you,

Rachel
